First off let me say that I really didn't want to do this.
I am personally opposed to censorship in any form, I think people should be mature enough to take responsibility for what they say and hear, and not rely on someone else to protect them from things they find offensive or enforce some standard of what is acceptable.
However, I realize that not everyone shares my views on this matter. More importantly I know that some of our listeners might have content-filtering software that would prevent them from viewing some of the pages on our site due to the language there, so in the interest of keeping this site accessible to all of our varied listeners, I've implemented a script that automatically censors certain words on this site.
I don't want to misrepresent a person's opinion by changing or removing a word from their posts without notice, so censored words will appear as a word or letter in [brackets] to indicate that the word has been changed from what the original author posted.
For example: I'm sure Dj Ch405 will want to kick the [s---] out of me when he hears about this.
Also, let me be clear that I will not be censoring the Dj's radio broadcasts in any way. If you're concerned about what you might hear during a given program, I recommend checking the thread for that show to get a feel for what you can expect before tuning in.
Right now I'm limiting the list to just a few of George Carlin's famous seven, and I'm looking for input from our listeners on whether I should add to the list, remove from it, or just get rid of it altogether.
Please vote in the poll to voice your opinion on this matter, and PM me with any suggestions you have, including words you'd like to see added to the list.
